A CAPPELLA IN YOUR FACE

THE HOUSE JACKS

The House Jacks got started in the early '90s by Deke Sharon in San Francisco, California. Their funky new pop/rock style immediately snatched the attention of youth in the Bay Area. With two albums, "Naked Noise" and "Funkwich", the House Jacks really had a lead in the music scene. The members included: Deke Sharon, Bert Bacco, Austin Willacy, Rob Penn, Andrew Chaikin and Tristan Bishop. Only about a year or two ago Andrew, Rob and Tristan all went their separate ways, and Wes Carroll and Garth Kravits were hired to take their place. Now, The House Jacks are traveling to places like Italy, Germany, and all over the U.S. They seem to have fans in all corners of the globe, and rightfully so. Get the whole scoop on the Jacks at The House Jacks Website.

Deke Sharon, born in San Francisco, graduated from the New England Conservatory of Music and Tufts University. He is founder/president of the Contemporary A Cappella Society of America. He has been professionally singing high tenor since age 5, believe it or not! Deke and his wife Katy life in San Francisco.

Bert Bacco, born in New York, is also a graduate of Tufts University. He's the big bass man for the Jacks. Bert's suave, sexy voice makes the women swoon over him. With leads like "I Need You Tonight" and "Attitude", how could anyone resist him?

Austin Willacy, born in Shaker Heights, Ohio and with a degree from Dartmouth College, adds a nice touch with his tenor. His leads in songs like "Jack it Up" and "Express Yourself" help create that FUNKAE beat the group is looking for. Austin gets his musicial inspiration from singers like Ray Charles, Oasis, 12 Monkeys and other hip bands.

Wes Carroll, born in Gary, Indiana, graduated from M.I.T., Berklee College of Music. Before joining the Jacks, Wes was vocal percussionist for Five O'Clock Shadow (an A Cappella band from Boston). Wes's upbeat style of percussion provides a groove that no one can dislike, unless their total losers.

Garth Kravits, born in Rockville, Maryland, brings in a nice baritone and completes the quintet. He graduated from Hard Knocks University, majoring in Creative Living. Garth loves to rollerblade, play the piano, read, play sports and watch television. He and his wife, Sarah, live in San Francisco. If you want to give Garth something he likes, give him a Pina Colada.
