One of the lesser known bands to Americans is the Irish group Boyzone. These five lads from Dublin, Ireland have worked their way to #1 on the pop charts in Europe with hits like "This is Where We Belong", "A Different Beat" and "One Kiss at a Time". Ronan Keating, Stephen Gately, Shane Lynch, Keith Duffy, and Mikey Graham make up this talented pop sensation.
Ronan Patrick John Keating was born March 3, 1977. Raised in Dublin, Ronan has always had an immense love for music. His primary focus was song writing, which is why he writes most of the songs Boyzone performs. What do the other lads think of Ro? They all agree he is kind-hearted and a very generous person.
Stephen Patrick David Gately was born on March 17, 1976. It's funny how he's Irish and born on St. Patrick's Day. Steve's first jobs, before joining up with Boyzone, were bartending and a sales assistant at Mukullas clothing store. The other lads say Stephen's a very nice guy, but don't get him angry.
Michael Christopher Charles Graham was born August 15, 1972. He has always loved songwriting and was the lead singer for a band called Ivory, which performed in local pubs. Other than the music industry, Mikey was a milkman, barman, supermarket shop assistant, department store porter, and a mechanic! This lad is experienced in every field. The other guys say that Mikey is definately the clown of the group, but you can really tell if this guy is up or down.
Shane Eamonn Mark Stephen Lynch was born July 3, 1976. Before joined Boyzone, Shane worked as a petrol station attendent and an apprentice at his dad's garage. He is brother to Edele and Keavy, twins who are lead singers for B*Witched. The Lynchs' sure raised a talented bunch. The other lads say Shane doesn't worry about anything. He's a happy-go-lucky sort of guy who's looking for fun and games and enjoys life.
Keith Peter Thomas Francis John Duffy was born October 1, 1974. Keith was once an architecture student, and when he was 18, he was a drummer for a band called The Burning Effigy and also for a covers band called Toledo Moon. His first job was finding lost balls on a golf driving range - but he's also been a barman, waiter, a sales assistant at Frawleys department store in Dublin, a sales assistant at Makullas (the same time as Stephen), and a doorman at various clubs. This lad sure gets around. The members of Boyzone say that Keith is a very great guy. He's fun to be around and sticks up for the group.
Boyzone has started to make its mark on American shores by feature articles in teen magazines like Bop and Teen Machine. Music stores have also been stocking Boyzone CDs. For the latest news, check out Boyzone's home page.
